SIX60 Saturdays tour coming to Sky Stadium in February

Wellington is set to welcome New Zealand’s biggest band, SIX60, to Sky Stadium on Saturday 13 February 2021.

After the success of their tour last summer, the band are bringing “SIX60 SATURDAYS 2021” to six venues across Aotearoa in January and February. Each concert has a handpicked line up of musical guests with Drax Project, Dave Dobbyn, JessB and AACACIA joining SIX60 on the stage in Wellington.

Sky Stadium CEO, Shane Harmon, said this would be the first concert in the Stadium’s 21-year history that a New Zealand band has headlined a show.

"This concert will be massive. It could potentially be the largest attended show anywhere in the world in the last twelve months” he said.

“In a very tough year for the events industry we are very grateful to SIX60 and Eccles Entertainment for coming to Wellington”.

“We are expecting a huge crowd and urge fans to secure their tickets early”.

Warrick Dent, General Manager Events and Experiences, said that Wellington had a proven track record in drawing huge crowds for concerts.

“The record-breaking Eminem concert in 2019 followed by the largest crowd of the Queen + Adam Lambert NZ tour earlier this year points to a big weekend in Wellington” he said.

“This is the only stadium show of the tour and we anticipate a very special night with thousands of out-of-region fans descending on the capital for the weekend”.

Fans joining the tour will also be treated to the first live performance of some of SIX60’s latest material. The band have been working on some brand-new tracks throughout the year quickly following up from last year’s epic release that produced standout hits ‘The Greatest’, ‘Please Don’t Go’, ‘Long Gone’ and ‘Sundown’.

Ticket pre-sales will start from 12pm on Thursday 15th October and general public tickets are on sale from 12pm on Monday 19th October. Click here to sign up here for presale tickets.

On Thursday 26 November, Notable Pictures will release SIX60: Till The Lights Go Out ahead of their New Zealand Tour. The film tells the story of New Zealand’s biggest band, revealing their untold story of ambition and creative vulnerability. Harnessing the fighting spirit of the rugby field, SIX60 transformed a desire to win into musical domination for over a decade, previously unseen in Aotearoa. This feature documentary, by Julia Parnell, captures the band as they’ve never been seen before. To find out more visit www.six60movie.com.
