Sky Stadium's 25th Birthday Event guide

On Sunday, 9 March, we're celebrating 25 years of Sky Stadium by opening our doors for a FREE birthday bash from 11:00am – 3:00pm! If you’re planning to join us, check out our event guide below to make the most of your day.

Event Guide

Once you pass through the entry turnstiles, you’ll find entertainment throughout the Inner Plaza and concourse. Enjoy live music by a band setting the atmosphere, little drivers for the kids to try out, and even emergency service displays from the partners who assist us on event days.

Aisles 12–20 on the concourse will be buzzing with activities for the whole whanau to enjoy, including face painting, bouncy castles and activations by McDonald’s, Chemist Warehouse, New Zealand Police, MediaWorks, and Wellington Free Ambulance!

If you’re keen to test your cricket, football, or rugby skills, head down to the field! Access is via Aisles 13–20, where Cricket Wellington, Capital Football, and Wellington Rugby will be hosting drills throughout the event.

After experiencing what it’s like to play on the field, follow in the footsteps of your favourite players and walk through the players’ tunnel for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the changing rooms. Each room will be specially dressed to replicate its game day setup!

A photobooth and trophies from New Zealand Rugby will also be on display for the perfect photo opportunity!

Feeling hungry? Coffee, food, and beverages will be available to purchase by Aisle 12 on the concourse. Two food trucks and a coffee cart will be parked on the artificial pitch next to the field, and Fritz Wieners will be located in the Inner Plaza!

A reminder: This is a FREE event with FREE parking.

Mobility Access

Golf carts will be available to transport those with mobility needs from the car park to the field and back to the concourse, if needed.

Bathrooms

Female bathrooms will be available at Aisles 15 and 18, while male and mobility-accessible bathrooms will be located at Aisles 16 and 20.
